> Andre ~ Because I've never felt a change in my appetite (depressed or not), I'm thinking that MAYBE the Effexor took away my racing heart and feelings of panic and maybe the sedate feeling has slowed my metabolism. Ever notice how nervous, jittery people seem to be on the thin side? Just a thought.

Andre that all makes sense in a way except for the fact that my psych., general practitioner and 3 pharmacists insisted to me that paxil and effexor cause weight loss and even anorexia in people and they never heard of any of the a.ds causing weight gain which always made me think I was crazy or a failure. But i gained 50 lbs on paxil and 20 on effexor things that I was on for ocd and social phobia but now being 70lbs heavier i am more social phobic then I ever was before starting the a.ds ain't that a kicker? I also have a friend and sister in law both were able to eat anything w/out gaining and severely underweight one had to drink protein shakes to gain and still could'nt a few months on paxil and presto both over weight one gained 30# and the other over 40# . So what would you make of that? also it has been 8mos. off for one and 10mos off for the other and only 10 pounds lost between the 2 and that is w/some dieting for 2 women who just a year ago could'nt put on an ounce you can't tell me it is because they are getting older like both their doctors have. I don't think your metabolism slows down that much from aging 1 year one is 28 and the other girl is 30.
