When someone says that they have gained weight from an antidepressant I think that they are forgetting that ADs, if they work, will give you your appetite back, hence you will gain weight. 12 pounds is around an average amount of weight to loose during a depressive episode so the 12 pounds you have gained might be due to the fact that you no longer have a blunted appetite caused by the depression.
