Hi,

I am just coming off Seroquel.

1) I was about 98lbs to start, then my weight increased by about 28lbs when I went on Zyprexa (but it is notorious for weight gain!). When I stopped and went onto Seroquel, I didn't go back to my former weight. I stayed at around 126lbs, maybe increased by about another 7lbs. I found that this was due to two main reasons: my appetite stayed nearly as good as it was on Zyprexa (ie: MUCH better than it was on no AP). Food tasted much better. Secondly, I had absolutely no energy or motivation so I did no real exercise. I slept ALL the time.

2) He he he, why do people say "slept like a baby"? That's so funny. Ironic really, as babys don't actually sleep well do they! They wake up screaming all through the night! Ah what weird sayings we have! Anyway as I was just starting to get onto, YES, sleep is great on Seroquel! I slept all day long. I was on 750mg. I would take 450mg at night and promptly fall asleep. I'd be woken up by my kind mum at about 7am the next day and take my morning 300mg. However, this then knocked me out until about 1pm in the afternoon. BAD NEWS. However, this was at 750mg. At lower doses, I found that I slept a more *normal* amount. Anyway this is the main reason I am changing to a new AP.

3) No I didn't find Seroquel made me depressed. On the contrary, it had a strong antidepressant effect for me.

4) I don't know, I would guess very low.

5) I don't know.

One added bonus is that Seroquel is great for your skin!! I suffer from bouts of acne, and Seroquel gave me lovely clear skin. Someone on babble said this is probably to do with lowering testosterone levels, which normally causes spots.

I didn't get a yeast infection because of Seroquel, but I get them ALL THE TIME anyway! So annoying. I take antibiotics, and that can cause it. I just find myself always using the cream and doing the pessarys. It's quite easy. Do you live in the UK? You don't even need to go to the doctor. Just go and get some Cannisten at the chemist. There is this "super-duper one tablet fixes all" available, but it costs about £12, which is ridiculous I think. So I just stick with the old-fashioned creams and all that. Anyway, don't worry about it. Stress agrivates things. Drink lots of cranberry juice too! That is thought to be good.

Hope all goes well.

Lots of love. Kate xxx
