Much better. Thanks for asking. I have gone from being stunned and depressed and overwhelmed to being busy and practical. Opening a bank account and credit card in my own name, getting my husband to refinance our mortgage so he can buy me out and I can move, looking at properties to buy. Today, I made an offer on a condo I can afford. I went to the open house, then asked my husband to come back with me and look at it (he's good about seeing little things that are wrong). Then we drove all over and looked at buildings, neighborhoods where I am to see properties on Monday with a broker I contacted.
I wasn't impressed and he urged me to make an offer on the first property. So I did. I'm seeing more on Monday morning and if I see something good, I will lose the good faith money from this offer, but it's worth it to hold the property.
He is also being very good about dividing up money, property. I figured he would keep the furniture and I would keep the car, but now he's saying I can take this, take that.
So I'm in motion and that feels good. How I will feel when the music stops - I can't say.
