My Mom really doesn't want me to go to get a tetanus shot tomorrow. She says it's silly to go to the doctor for such a superficial wound. I told her I should get a tetanus shot every 10 years anyways and I'm due, but then she told me people go decades without a tetanus shot and are OK.

It's about *prevention*!!!! Why can't my Mom be understanding about this? She seriously has problems with going to the doctor. My Mom doesn't like to go to the doctor unless she's really sick. She didn't even want me to go to the ER when I took too much aspirin and the nurse I called told me to go to the ER.

My Mom cares too much about what others think. She thinks the doctor will think it's silly and wrong of me to want to get a tetanus shot after a superficial dog bite.

What will getting the shot hurt? There are practically zero downsides to getting a shot vs possible death in the rare but deadly disease. The shot doesn't even cost anything! It's free.

My Dad supports me. He told me it's a good idea to get a tetanus shot. My Mom doesn't want me to get one.

I'm getting a tetanus shot for peace of mind. I'm due for one anyways, I may as well go tomorrow. To heck with what my Mom thinks!
