Yes, Dinah I didn't mean to imply collies were particularly notorious for being malicious biters (that honour goes to Jack Russell Terriers). It was just co-incidence that my Smudge is a collie and the dog that bit me was also a collie. My Staffie X Doberman cross is an affectionate, gentle soul despite her formidable parentage.
