I'm taking 400mg Magnesium Citrate a day. Takes maybe 2 hours or so to kick in after you have taken it. Does have a calming effect. I haven't tried Glycinate or Taurate. I have tried various chelated forms, and citrate seems to work best so far.

I'm vegetarian, so I'm wondering if I'm getting enough calcium. I don't drink much milk, and whether I should supplement it with the Magnesium. I feel like I need more than 400mg although I'm taking things easy and sticking with 400mg a day to give it a proper trial.

I'm less anxious taking the Magnesium although it doesn't prevent panic attacks, seems to lessen or prevent generalised anxiety though which is very helpful.
