For those interested, There is an excellent publication by Harvard University in conjuction with the Psychiatry department of Mass General that is a comprehensive guide to all the supplements that are commonly associated with psychological disorders and describes each in great detail along with recommended dosages. Many of the supplements are ones that I bet youve never heard of - and yet are proving extremely efficacious in treat unipolar/bipolar etc. Wish I could give you the name but I cant recall it now. You might check on Amazon et al. All I can tell you is, with regards to fish oils and DHA/EPA, the ratio configuration is critical. Equally important however is the brand of DHA/EPA you use. DHA form algea (Neuromins) is, in some cases, 500X more potent(in a good way) than the standard fishoil crap that everyone hears about. How many people know that depending on your particular disorder, genetic makeup - the the proprtion of DHA to EPA can vary significantly. How many know that supplementing with inositol powder (at a higher dose than is usually reccomended on the directions) can provide a more thorough relief from many mood disorders than nearly any medications out there (though it will take longer). I would take all this with a grain of salt, but I highly reccomend looking very deeply into some of the higher rated university/hospital publications that discuss these disorders.
