Hi Lar,
I've been backing down on the large doses of vits/minerals. Last Sunday ( a week ago) I knew I had too much zinc(probably) or selenium from the metallic taste in my mouth. (gone now)
Don't like to admit I was also sitting at the computer with tears streaming down my face while reading your replies to me. I'm blaming too much something..umm zinc from the picolinate form? Just wanted you to know I did appreciate your replies and have been thinking, was just a bit brain fogged to give reasoned replies to all of them...but I will!

The zinc I stopped after that and then selenium the next day, then the magnesium/ascorbate I tapered off..and other multis. I'm getting ready for the blood tests etc.

I tried 2000mg tyrosine on Thursday., and it was too much. My blood pressure increased a little from 120/80 to 135/88. I stayed awake all day! but I did feel it was a bit much. Could feel heartbeat was wrong..too fast. (resting pulse 91 ) I woke up after 5 hrs sleep and didn't feel tired, but my tooth nerve ached., strangely the tyrosine seemed to quiet it., I think..Took another 500mg tyrosine and thyroid med and went back to sleep, woke up in morning with a slightly too much T3 headache(mild tension headache middle of forehead) and eyes stinging and bit glazed...so I've stopped for a while.

Feeling better every day. yesterday and today , feel good and I can even kinda type without correcting spelling 20 times for each word!

There is something strange to my reactions to vitamins/supplements(like tyrosine) that I also feel best for a few days after I stop taking large doses of them. I've heard others say the same of drugs/vitamins..and I don't think the blood level is the answer as taking differing amounts doesn't produce the same effect. I suspect it has something to do with altering different receptor levels /sensitivities while retaining higher amounts of transmitters for a while...or something similar on the cellular level/ion pumps/ATP level. It's beyond me.
Pity it doesn't last! Once everything drops back down and resets, its back to needing them again.

One thing I have noticed about taking tyrosine is it increases my desire for chocolate greatly!!!...similar to PMS times!
So I'm guessing this means there is something missing that is supplied by phenylalanine?
I've bought some l-phenylalanine (couldn't find any dl so far), and I'll try that soon.
I'll have to go back and reread your posts to see if taking both the l-phenyl and the tyrosine together is similar to the dl-phenylalanine? Probably not!

T3(thyroid) stimulates appetite, but in most the effect is not great and only last the first few days they begin.
With me(unusually) it is ongoing. Doesn't poop out unfortunately. That is why I tried the tyrosine. I does take an edge off my hunger,. but not enough...sigh. Perhaps the l-phenylalanine will help more?.
What I have found though, is the rebound effect of stopping the tyrosine has increased this appetite stimulation sooo much..I need my lips sown together or something!
Before the T3 , I had zilch appetite, didn't gain too much weight as never ate much.
I thought the appetite gain was good that it allowed me to eat a healthy diet..but the weight gain is ridiculous. My temperature/metabolism is still not high enough I guess. (I'm running about one degree too cold at present.)
I think I'm going to need a appetite suppressing drug soon, if the l-phenyl doesn't work. I can't get my mind off the starving feeling.

> I've been using DLPA, but I've just about run out. I've got some tyrosine. I'll let you know.
How did you go?
Hugs, Jan
