I am glad that at least you know what you are dealing with. Once you know you have asthma, you might find you see the signs in other people too. I know my asthma is effected by what they call ozone days here in the midwest when it is very hot and humid with poor air quality.
Did your doc put you on any preventive meds or are you only having an emergency inhaler? You need to learn your triggers and be sure to take your inhaler everywhere you go. Asthma can be fatal, so you need to take it seriously. But ususally those are the people who ignore their signs. There are a lot of myths out there too. Some people and docs think it is all in one's head.
Some of my triggers are the weather, like fog and humidity, infections (sinus), exhaust, perfumes and those room dedorizers, especially the ones that you plug in and burning candles.
If you feel an attack coming on and the inhaler isn't working well, or as long as it should, you need to call your doc ASAP. He will usually put you on steroids for a few days or ask you to go to the hospital if it is at night.
GOod luck and try to educate your self about this.
