I'm not sure of the answer to that. EEG's show that people using benzo's for sleep tend to have more stage 2 sleep and less stage 3/4 deep sleep. While benzo's may give you sleep, it may not be deep, restorative sleep. Supposedly Remeron is good for deep sleep, but of course it has other side effects.

Gaboxadol is a sleep drug in the pipeline that is supposed to increase deep sleep...supposed to be out in the US later this year or early 2007.
