Nice one, Phillipa! Those old time docs have been around the block and seen meds come and go. They tend to know the deal and don't get caught up in the all the hype and media campaigns. I hope the valium works its magic on you again.
Keep me posted, all right? Bye.
Finally saw the new pdoc. She is probably in her 70's and is highly recognized. She has published numerous articles for JAMA, and is a reviewer for the AMA. She knows all the older drugs well. Anyway when I told her I did not like klonopin and xanax made me tired, she asked what had worked. When I said Valium in the past, she said then let's switch you from klonopin .5mg to 5mg of Valium twice a day. When we got to the chloral hydrate, she said "don't try to fix it if it ain't broke"! She left me on it. Finally a pdoc who will work with me! When I told her about the W/D and seeing a neurologist for the violent shaking and twitching she listened. I told her that I had to adjust my own meds till I saw her. She then said "you know your body better than anyone else". Do you think I may possibly be on the right track at last? I hope so! We also bought a new computer and if all goes well I'll soon be able to get mail and "Babble" again. Fondly, Phillipa
