i have had musculoskeletal pain on my left chest, and I thought it was a heart attack.

Don't use any illicit drugs or drink any alcohol.

Take your valium, and do not take inderal because I read it can cause depression. I have never been on it though.

Valium is something I have taken, and it will relax your muscles.

Take a strong non-narcotic painkiller {ibuprofen} or non-narcotic muscle relaxer too if it it does not mix badly with your meds of course.

Get good sleep; eat and drink well.

Do you need exercise or have circulation problems? Exercise can help with tension and help strengthen your body to deal with it. Even just stretching and physical activity like a recreational sport can do wonders, so your mind and body are kinder to each other.

Keep track of your symptoms as objectively as possible and bring them to your doctors. It's still okay to be skeptical and doubtful about what a doctor says, but don't get paranoid or diagnosis yourself. If you don't know if you are having a heart attack, you should ask the doctor what a heart attack feels like exactly or what a panic attack feels lik exactly versus a seizure or something like that. That way you can get the doctor talking specifically, so you can rule out things in your mind instead of wondering "what if?" x, y or z is happening to you at the moment.

Even if you are just having a bad panic attack and feel you are losing consciousness are things are too scary then go to the emergency room and ask to talk to a neurologist, psychiatrist or whomever you need.
