Hi Melissa. I am currently taking Manerix and I really like it. If you have never taken an SSRI, you might be disappointed with it, but then again you might not. I was taking Celexa, but found I was very tired. Since switching to Manerix I no longer have the dreaded SSRI apathy. I also don't have the muscle tension since switching to Manerix. When I was on Celexa, someone could've hit me in the head and I wouldn't have reacted to it. It was quite strange. I now have emotions again, which I missed.
Manerix so far has been good for me. I feel closest to "normal" on this drug than Celexa. It has definitely given me more energy and that helps me with anxiety. I feel much more anxious when I am tired and overwhelmed.
Could you not just take an ativan or xanax when the anxiety is too bad? I found that on Celexa I still had to take an ativan every once and a while. And even on Manerix I still have to pop an ativan every now and again.
