Jack,
My diagnosis is a mixture of anxiety disorders, mostly mild to moderate, such as OCD, GAD, Social Phobia and "atypical depression". I take 1.5 xanax per day and increase up to 2 when needed, which is maybe once or twice a month. I tried and and was "hooked" on SSRIs for years. Stopped a year and half ago. They make me feel much worse and of course there were the usual side effects. Xanax works nicely.
