In my real life, I am a college English professor, a writer, and an editor. For fun, I pick apart the grammar, punctuation, and spelling of everyone I know. For money, I do that to folks I don't know.
I don't correct people here. Maybe it's because I am aware that many of these folks are not native English speakers. But it's more likely because I think some of them might have enough going on with their depression and their self-esteem. To criticize them about their use--or misuse--of the language would be petty.
