If I'd been a veggie
I'd 've been a bloody Parsnip
Or maybe Broccoli, Brussel Sprout or Swede
Nah, I'd definitely 've been a Parsnip
A cardboard flavoured Carrot
With the colour taken out
Why a Parsnip I hear you ask
Well, 'cause no bastard likes 'em
Or would admit it if they did
And no bugger misses 'em when they're not there either
But just you try and sneak one in
With a roast or in a stew
And watch the faces all scrunch up
And the expressions change
As they try to work out how to avoid it
Watch 'em as they pick it out
And banish it to the farthest corner of the plate
Then happily go on with the rest of their meal
Like nothing really happened.
