I have major depression with anxiety and was coping alright until I had my son 4 years ago. When I applied I was turned down, but my doctor said 99% of people are turned down, but all you do is get a lawyer and appeal. It does take forever but it's worth it if you can't work. I think I first applied back in 05, was turned down, then I appealed, then went to court last summer and finally last fall I got my first check. So it took about 2 years. I do hope to go back to work some day, but first I need to get my health straightened out. Also, you can still work part-time. I think you can earn up to $800 a month as well as get Social Security.

good luck,

brooke
