I've never had elbow tendonitis but my father did. I remember him wearing a brace and using ice. He continued to play racket ball which I'm sure made it worse. I think he was in a lot of pain.
If you're interested I can confirm with him how he treated it, what worked, and/or what meds helped (prednisone?)
