I'm fine with cold weather. As you say, it's far easier to stay warm. But....
I'm relatively sure I don't want to add snow shoveling and snow tires to lawn mowing. :)
New Orleans can be very nice between October and perhaps April - or even May this year. Winter only shows up a few days a year, and the rest of Winter seems more like Fall. Spring comes in February.
So if I ever won the lottery, I wouldn't mind having a winter home here and a summer home someplace cooler.
(I buy the occasional lottery ticket just so I can say things like that.)
