One other thought ... heart worms can also cause coughing and what appears to be respiratory difficulties. No doubt your doggie has been on heart worm preventive so that's not an issue. Have they done any chest x-ray?

I'm curious about how this all comes out - do hope little puppy will be feeling better. Our furry friends really are a beloved part of our families and our lives.

> I've heard that folks are trying claritin now. She used to see a veterinary allergist/dermatologist. I recently spoke to him and he said that's the newest antihistamine for dogs. He also said that dogs "just don't get" respiratory symptoms from allergies, and he suggested I take her to an internist, as he thought she had COPD, not chronic bronchitis. I think I'll have the vet office send him a copy of her allergy blood work. ;)
