All I know is that my cat & my daughters' cats had 'chin acne'....sort of black spots or little scabs & when we changed from dry food to canned food it stopped. Then once when I was away, I had the person who looked after Ginger give him dry food (easier for catsitter) & he got the problem again & it disappeared with the intro again on wet food.
I imagine you could find something on the internet about it.
