Good for you. I think you did a wonderful thing for your son. I had to explain to the teacher that my child's hesitation before she answers a question is a form of stutoring. (I spoke to a speech therapist about it). The teacher was taking it as disobedience or as my child not being ready for first grade next year - at least that is the way I took it.
