The teachers used to take away my CAPD/ADHD son's lunch and recess. I told them NO WAY, and explained why that didn't make sense. They'd try to do it anyway, so I'd pick him up at recess time, take him to the park and then McDonalds. He wasn't disrespectful about it, but he knew how I felt - he needed to run off his energy, not get it all pent up. He hated school enough as it was.

Probably not the best example, oh well.
