The TV commercials you hate

Posted by whiterabbit on April 23, 2003, at 13:49:05

I know this is completely irrelevant, but I've been going through my wedding pictures (to pick out the ones of my family, the rest went in the trash)and I need a break.

Is anybody else as sick of Geico commercials as I am? And how about Dell? They both play their commercials over and over, ad nauseam - every channel, 24/7. I will hurt myself getting to the remote fast enough to mute these commercials.

Does anyone else remember the days when we didn't have to watch commercials for tampons & maxi pads?
How about ads for herpes, toenail fungus, and impotence medication? I didn't think the old cigarette commercials were nearly as offensive, although I guess these were banned for health reasons and not for being tasteless. (My gosh, I can remember the little tune from Benson & Hedges
commercials - la la la la...la la la la - when sometimes I can't remember what I had for breakfast. The mind works in mysterious ways.)

Of course, I wouldn't have so many opportunities to be offended if I didn't have the television on
so much, but I rarely sit down and just watch TV.
I keep the television on in the background for company like most people listen to music for company. I don't need to listen to music, I have too much noise in my head already.

Okay, I'm finished.
