It sounds wonderful!! We've spent our last few holidays in SOuth East Asia.. first we went to Malaysian Borneo, and it was amazing. We went trecking in the rain forests on Mount Kinabalu and it was amazing.. we saw no other people, just birds and monkeys and snakes and frogs..
Last 2 years we've been to Thailand.. we have totally fallen in love with an island there.. totally off the tourist trail - no running water, no proper electricity.. just total escapism. I often got up to sit on the beach, totally alone to watch the sunrise. I loved that peace.. We're hoping to go back for Christmas and New Year this year.. We have many friends on the island so I think this would be great!! The island is small, but has so much on it.. even a little mountain!! And swimming with sharks in one of the bays is the most awesome adrenalin rush!I love the peace of escapism!
