And they have to be nice to people who don't deserve it, not let their personal problems show at work, and they have to deal with not being in complete control of everyone around them all the time while not getting out of control themselves. And that last is the part that I think would particularly trip up some doctors.

Thanks for your illuminating report on the compensation details of your job. I am now considering a career change. One problem, though. I haven't been to Vegas. But during a recent trip to Lake Tahoe, I didn't spot any guy waitresses in the classier places. Then again, I was not studying the issue at that time. Plus, I am not too sure how I would look in the outfits, especially the skirt part. Anyway, from IBM to cocktail waitress is definitely a move in the right direction. As long as you are not bored.
So far as the orginal question is concerned,I vote for the consequences to fit the offense--they return as OCD patients who are compelled to seek out only the most imcompetent and uncommunicative doctors available.
