For me, if I have any, fish burps are usually only the first day or two that I take them (if I haven't been taking them all along). Iow, they only last for a couple days. But then I usually take 4-6 at a time. Here's the advice I've seen to avoid fish burps:

Keep capsules them in the fridge or even the freezer.
Make sure you take them with your highest fat meal.
Try taking digestive enzymes when you take them, and/or probiotics.

I think the most important is to take them with a high fat meal.

Hope it works for you. :)

> hi. :) i am very desperate to know if this brand will cause fish burps. i bought it impulsively because i knew that if i didn't, i never would. i made an assumption that because the amount of omega 3 in the 1g pills was high (400 of EPA, 200 of DHA, so 60% Omega 3) and it was "pharmaceutical grade" or branded as such, that it would be purified enough that it will be just oil and none of the molecules associated with the flavour and scent of fish. sure enough opening the bottle, it smells pretty innocent.

(i'm one of those wierd people who can throw up from sea food smells.) fish oil is quite the jump for me. i am finally trying it because i never have and i don't know what there is left to try. the fact that i pretty much never get EPA in my diet, and that EPA seems to have a broad utility, for both ADHD and depression (indicating a more dopamine positive or frontally positive mechanism), and also may also notably help prevent a significant percentage of cases schizophrenia, which also *may* strongly suggest it may help with cognition.
