Hey tealady -

I keep coming across your blogspot when doing google searches! You're famous! I think because I'm researching the same things maybe you are interested in too.

A point of possible interest - my 'Ultra-40' liver tablets by Beverley Int. - once you can actually find the nutritional breakdown - contain a HUUUGE amount of B1 and B5 - which means I don't take too many of them and I have to take some kind of other B complex - if I remember correctly 1.4mg of B1 per tablet and 30mg B5 per tab. Now I know the B1 quantity doesn't sound like much, but for a 'natural' whole food product that is a lot - also you get a huge 500 tablet container of these things. I'm still going on my one I bought a year ago now, but I don't know how people manage to take lots of these a day (they *can be* quite energizing although sometimes they made me go to sleep very early (???)). Just a thought if you are looking for a natural source of B1.

I find if I am very very tired, lacking in sleep, or am under a lot of stress these tablets are pretty good and holding me up.

8gms of Mg???!!! OMG - that's a huge amount - and no diarrhea - wow - do you still take Mg now? I got bad diarrhea with Mg citrate but my sister does very well on it. Interestingly, when I went off travelling in Peru I found I could take a lot more Mg than at home; I didn't even need any calcium to balance - I just kept popping Mg and it took a lot to get me to 'go'. I think stress is huge with regard to Mg depletion.

Sorry this is off topic - I was recently investigating PGE-1 and GLA and the nutrients needed to produce them - which seem to also be the stuff I feel good on -

magnesium, zinc, B6, vitamin C.

But I add in B1 to that list, and also taurine. One of the reasons I think I like the 'whole food' vitamins, is maybe the B6 - because I think I might have trouble metabolizing pyridoxine (sp) into p5p. But then I've tried straight p5p and it didn't feel the same.

Regarding shipping - I live in Chile and order from betterlife.com - but then restrictions here aren't too bad - I seem to recall you having a problem with Australia? That's really crap if it's so.

The ones I buy are Garden of Life Multi - they are expensive but I don't take the full dose - sometimes I take a small amount of another 'regular' multi that is a 2-3 pills per day dose to cut down on cost.

I was interested in getting some New Chapter vitamins and in fact they should work out cheaper - the same idea - vitamins put into probiotic cultures to make high vitamin 'food' tablets. I am open minded about this stuff - but cost obviously is important I would rather spend less.
