Ayurvedic medicine recommends smoking Gota Kola for better meditations. This could translate into better sleep and dreaming. Opens up the sixth chakra.
I'm thinking of putting together some sort of smoke mixture this evening and may use Gotu Kola as a kind of base. Gotu Kola has never done much for me but many around here swear by it.
Have you tried Damiana? It works like a sedative for me - especially when smoked. It is very smokable - I use a water pipe. It also has some stimulating qualities (aphrodiasiac) that might promote dreaming.
I'm also experimenting with chinese herbs like albizzia. I'm still not sure how to best use them. The albizzia flowers are too cloyingly sweet (in tea) so I'm thinking about adding jasmine, rose petals, peppermint, and other fragrant herbs to mask the taste.
I ingested 5 grams of albizzia bark powder and noticed nothing remarkable - perhaps, a slight headache - and it's supposed to be calming.
Sorry about the rambling. I have jars of stuff I haven't even tried yet.
