For what I know about Provigil, that's not working on the brains like the others stimulants...and it's less addictive.

"Modafinil is thought to have less potential for abuse than other stimulants due to the absence of any significant euphoric or pleasurable effects."

That's what you can find on wikipedia...but sometimes wikipedia is not the best website to take your informations.

I ask my psychiatrist to prescribe it to me a couple of months ago but it was not cover by insurrance, so he give to me regular Ritalin, that I found completely unnecessary, since coffee stimule me more than this. He had just good comments to said about Provigil (Modafinil), it's cause less anxiety than regular stimulant drugs, especially if you don't use it for an ADD problem but more for an additionnal drug to help you with ecessive daytime sleepiness cause by regular antidepressive drugs. IF you're not at all anxious or panic disorders don't affect you, maybe some others stimulants can help you without being too addicting...

I know also that Adderall-Xr can be a good choice, but is more addicting, it's made with mixed amphetamine salts, less addicting than the regular and less expensive cheap version made only with one ingredient call Dexedrine. I ask for a prescription of Adderall-Xr but it was not cover by the insurrance, so it's why my doctor don't prescribe it to me. He said it's more powerfull than Ritalin for sure and it cause more anxiety on people with existing anxiety problem or panic disorder but not for people with ADD or ADHD...

If you search well on this forum, you will find similars topics about your particular question...I think... Since i'm not an expert on stimulants drugs, and I don't try a lot of them, maybe some other peoples can help you more and share their experiences with you...

Well, mery christmas to you , take care and I hope you will find your answer and have some help here soon ;-)
