I am not your doctor and I cannot give you a diagnosis as an untrained observer but hyperventilization is not generally a sign of hydrocephalus. Its, as Phillipa said, something normally shown up in neonates and is treated with shunts, perhaps diuretics and other treatments. It can occur in adults, but it is usually due to other conditions such as certain rare types of tumors and the like.
I think you're more likely developing a form of OC Spectrum disorder and/or Conversion disorder from worrying about esoteric illnesses. But that's merely my opinion and from what I see you're getting a second opinion from another psychiatrist.
The mind is a powerful thing and the "barely able to stand" part could just be the autonomic (base) nervous system gone awry by fear, causing "medical student syndrome" (the fear of every disease learned.)- wish the best
