In the nervous breakdown, I was hyperventilating all waking hours (of course not when sleeping) and if it was left unchecked for too long a time, I'd feel this fullness at the top of my head as if it was going to blow up. I would also, during that time, feel a bit out of touch w/ reality. And, at one time, my blood pressure either fell or went off the charts as almost passed out, but caught by a nurse and then made to sit w/ head down below knees, until doc called back to say 'whoops forgot to write med order .. pls give to her'.
No P has given me a second opinion. The P I was seeing at the time retired quite quickly afterwards. In fact, I've only gotten 'nervous breakdown isn't real' type answers and no one paid attn to the 'feeling like the top of my head was going to explode'.
I understand from Phillipa it is was not hydrocephalus. But, what was it? I was hoping someone here might know the proper terminology. It did feel like hydrocephalus! It was definitely NOT a headache.
