Are you implying that I am wrong to be giving my son meds, because it seems to me that is the point you are trying to make. My son's therapist and pdoc didn't do it right away or as a cure all. A lot of thought was given to it and we waited several months before medication was even brought up. Also, given the fact that Paxil worked for me, it was thought that Paxil would have a greater likelyhood to work for him. What I forgot to mention was that my mom had a severe reaction to Paxil, but now that my son is back on Pediasure, it seems to be acting as a buffer to Paxil and his stomach is back to normal. He cried for 2 years when we took him to preschool, he would hide under tables when vistors came to our house, he could not make a mistake on a piece of paper....After therapy he went to kindergarten and didn't cry, was the first student of the month...After Paxil he can now go to friends houses without Mom, go to birthday parties and talk to friends in unfamilar settings...He is a totally different kid. Don't tell me the meds. (and therapy) didn't work. Without meds. he wouldn't try a new food, WOULDN"T...Now, sometimes a crumb, even a bite ;) Of course we will watch him closely on Paxil.
