Time to find a doctor that is out of the 1990's and in the new millenium. Benzos are effective, benzos can be addictive but rarley get used that way by people with anxiety. SSRI's also have withdrawal factors, SSRI's can cause anxiety and panic. The whole seratonin theory and gaba theory is all just that theory. Benzos have less side effects, like my wife doesn't need to hire a boyfriend. etc etc etc. If the doc likes Celexa so much let him take 40 mg for a few months I gaurantee he won't tolerate the inability to climax not to mention the jumpiness without a good dose of booze or benzo's. When the doctors stop getting wined and dined by all these drug comanies maybe people will actually begin to get well. Get a new doc get on an effective dose of klonopin or xanax and get on with your life....recommended dosages for panic and social phobia would show you are undermedicated not overmedicated. Look up pdocs on the internet who specialize in panic......Lee Granholm, Stuart Shipko etc....none of them suggest using ssris in place of benzos, when the patents run out on paxil, zolft, and celexa they will push something else down out throats.
