hi janelle...

yeah, i'm still sensitive to benzos although the first time i took .25mg in the evening it didn't hit me nearly as hard... unless i'm really stressing, i have a tendency to break valium & xanax in pieces... the first time i took a whole ambien, it was like a freight train... it was a very weird experience... i remembered earlier posts about people doing or saying things they later didn't recall and i could see why... i jumped into bed as fast as i could... :) but i would never take it to calm me down.. almost felt more like a hypnotic than a tranquilizer

now pain killers i can eat by the handful and not feel a thing... i seem to have a really high tolerance to them ... go figure

i really feel for you not being able to work yet... but at the same time i must tell you that going to work takes eveything out of me... i've got nothing left... the only reason i'm still able to go is that i have to to keep a roof over my head... and i resent the hell out of it... every day is a battle

what other meds are you currently on? i hope it's ok that i'm asking you... we sound like there may be similarities

and thank you for the compliment... it really made me feel good :)

hope you're feeling well today
blessings

> Hi v - wow, you are apparently more sensitive to some meds than the very sensitive me(!), since .25 mg Klonopin knocked you out! Then again, I am sensitive to meds that activate me since I'm so high strung and hyper to begin with, they make it worse right away, but I am NOT at all sensitive to sedating ones - I usually need a HIGH dose of those to do anything for me! And some don't work on me at all.

> As for your frozen nervousness, well, for what it's worth, be glad that you are able to go to work. I'm in bad enough shape with that and other symptoms that I've been unable to do so. :-(

> Since you said you need something to "smooth you out," maybe a mood stabilizer (e.g., Depakote, Lamictal, Neurontin) - I just started Lamictal at a very low dose, waaaaaay too soon to know if it's gonna do anything. But, in general, the mood stabilizers are supposed to keep you from going too high up (too high strung, racy, etc.) or too far down (deep depression). I'm a cycler (not as in bicycler, as in mood cycler!) so I know I need a mood stabilizer!

> Thanks for cluing me in that Concerta is the latest slow release form of ritalin. I'd never have guessed that!

> I know just what you mean about how you so eloquently stated: "I need to be able to live in order to feel better... but I need to feel better in order to be able to initiate living." Very well put.
