Hi v - wow, you are apparently more sensitive to some meds than the very sensitive me(!), since .25 mg Klonopin knocked you out! Then again, I am sensitive to meds that activate me since I'm so high strung and hyper to begin with, they make it worse right away, but I am NOT at all sensitive to sedating ones - I usually need a HIGH dose of those to do anything for me! And some don't work on me at all.

As for your frozen nervousness, well, for what it's worth, be glad that you are able to go to work. I'm in bad enough shape with that and other symptoms that I've been unable to do so. :-(

I feel the "most" frozen nervousness when I'm the most depressed. As the veil lifts, so does the frozen nervousness.

Since you said you need something to "smooth you out," maybe a mood stabilizer (e.g., Depakote, Lamictal, Neurontin) - I just started Lamictal at a very low dose, waaaaaay too soon to know if it's gonna do anything. But, in general, the mood stabilizers are supposed to keep you from going too high up (too high strung, racy, etc.) or too far down (deep depression). I'm a cycler (not as in bicycler, as in mood cycler!) so I know I need a mood stabilizer!

Thanks for cluing me in that Concerta is the latest slow release form of ritalin. I'd never have guessed that!

I took Ambien and during one episode it worked, but this current one I got so hypomanic and obsessive, racy that I overrode the "gentle" Ambien, as my pdoc explained it. She gave me Zyprexa instead!

I know just what you mean about how you so eloquently stated: "I need to be able to live in order to feel better... but I need to feel better in order to be able to initiate living." Very well put.

Good luck 2 U!
-Janelle
