I took Sinemet CR for a while - they were a hard extended release tablet which the neurologist told me was fine to break in half as the whole tablet is slow to dissolve, not just the outer coating. Call your pharmacy and ask for sure. If it has a shiny hard coating that is a different color from the inside I would be more wary of breaking it.
