Well this, i have talked about Xanax my middle name is xanax, no im just kidding.
** (you dont have to read this part) Well i wanted to know well, i just came home from work, i wasnt really that anxious but im always spinning and bumbiling in my head, dizziness, cause i work at the Gap, WHICH i got written up today for sarcatic comments that went a little extreme.
**(this one too) But they deserved it, they where rude too, im telling people that work for the GAP are rude, mean ugh. I was talking to Cancdance she said "does it look like i care what your saying saying.....no, so go away lets leave eachother, your annoying" I told her "you know what, why dont you bite my *ss, i didnt care for you danm comment"
**(oh and by the way this one too)She desserved that 100%, man she made makes me mad, im serious people! this store is so rude and sarcastic and mean, danm, i have to be on defence mode alot.

Grapefruit juice affects most med don't worry it's not significant according to that site someone posted yesterday you type in your meds all of them and it tells you if any interractions and grapefruit juice was on all mine. Love Phillipa

Grapefruit juice theoretically affects some medications at CYP 450 (liver cytochromes) 3A4. This has not been proven to be hugely significant unless you're an absolute fan of grapefruit juice, which if the tangy bitter stuff floats your boat...
What happens is that grapefruit juice theoretically inhibits at 3A4, thus Valium or Xanax which are substrates will be left in the system longer and made more potent. I'd think you would have to drink the carton to make any dent in things, but some people might be more sensitive, its hard to say. There are other more significant medications that inhibit at 3A4 than the property of grapefruit juice, such as Luvox.

OMG i drank one glass i thought i was on Quaalues! (xanax 1mg.)
OMG, i am, omg, talk about extra sedation! I got up and, i did realize it did last a bit longer, but then i took another 1mg and it didnt last, it only lasted one hour. Thats weird.
No wondoer, i mean danm! im sorry that was some kind of experience.
Anyone else feel this?

i do not abuse XANAX. I am laying awake right now its what 12:04am took xanax 1mg nothing.
I always have my prescription fill dates on the right time, no early prescription refills.
I just made a sarcastic, well the main reason i took grapefruit is because xanax only lasts for only 2 danm hours.
I know it made me sounds like a barbiturate person. Bad for me.
I have abused Dexedrine. Thats why i was taken off it.
I have been on Xanax for a while, my doctor would know if i was abusing...
No im not.

people disregard this last posting i have posted, they where un called for, and a bad influence. My apologies. I should not have said that. I just woke up from xanax and i, well the main reason was to increase its half life, intern it changed its effects.
I dont want to get a bad rep. So my apologies are stated again.
Ativan is less than xanax but it is ok. I was on it for a year. But i didnt stop panic attacks.
I'll talk to my doctor.

1 mg of Xanax has an immediacy effect by itself -- its usually given 0.5mg PRN, so you're already getting a fair dose.I would say 50/50 that it is the power of suggestion or placebo, and 50/50 that you are one of the individuals who are somehow affected by P450 CYP 3A4 with grapefruit juice. It really is not normally a significant inhibitor but maybe it is for you.

Very little, since 50mg of Luvox is barely above a placebo dose. I know you've had problems with increasing the dose but it really doesn't start addressing things like OCD, anxiety disorders, and depression until you hit 100-200mg.
So my answer is you don't really have to worry that much. If you do notice any increase in tiredness you can inform your doctor or slightly break in pieces your benzodiazepines but I would say at that dose, not a great worry.

My Pdoc was adament about me not drinking Grape fruit juice while on xanax, but when I did, I was feelin' GOOD.
I drank about 16 oz. of strait up grapefruit juice (none of that ruby red crap) and I felt as if i had taken an extra mg of xanax.So for me, xanax, and grapefruit, I dont' see a problem

You might want to dig up Larry Hoover's very informative recent post about why grapefruit juice with meds isn't the hottest idea.

I don't think there's any difference between pink (true) and other colored grapefruit juice (not juice with added color). A pint of grapefruit juice is a pretty solid amount, that's what I said before -- if you really love grapefruit juice.... Most people drink like 6 oz of the stuff for breakfast.
So there's no wonder that if you are susceptible to induction by grapefruit juice at 3A4, 16 oz is obviously going to "double" your dose of Xanax. What it really is doing is preventing the Xanax from travelling through your liver for an extra half life. You could accomplish the same thing by asking your doctor for more Xanax if you needed it, or stop playing with P450 cytochromes as you're not taking medication as directed them.
