We hunt and fight, must plant the seed
Our fathers lessons learned.
But balanced men need cry and bleed
If trust of women earned.
___Consider this grand matriarch
Who shaped my fathers growth,
Was firm and kind, she set the mark.
She pushed and loved him both.Male infants cling, develop strength,
They suckle at the breast.
The young man needs her at arms length.
His mother gave her best.First object of his jealous spite,
More rival than a friend.
Now acts as counsel, steers him right,
Proud sister to the end.Part mentor, mother, sister all,
We seek what we have known.
The wife for which men often fall
Resembles those our own.
