The Look

Posted by Susan47 on March 13, 2005, at 12:22:32

I'll never forget that one look. It tore a hole right through my heart, and filled a different one.
As long as I live, whether I die today or tomorrow or forty years (at least, please, universe) from today, I will remember the essence of the look.
The essence of love, which comes from within, and is shared differently with everyone, and is beautiful in all forms.
Life from conception strives for a single moment.
As humans we're capable of understanding the import of that moment, even as we realize how meaningless it may be, in the end. And that's what's so frightening. The meaninglessness of it all, if there is no Superior Being, Someone who can put it all into context for us ... and because we can't find that in life, we hope for it in death ...
