Perimenopause was bitch, especially when it came to food cravings. I'm wondering if my newly menopausal state is a factor in my not experiencing my former severe withdrawal effects. I know that it certainly is re my far more stabile emotional state. Also, the last year of therapy has made a tremendous difference in my thinking. Maybe my having convinced myself that it's going to be OK is a factor. if I sunk into depression despite the high doage of effexor, then the opposite may be true.

One thing I noticed coming off Effexor while perimenopausal was that I had more hot flashes. So don't be surprised if that starts to happen at some point. It was like the Effexor was partially protecting me against the flashes.
