I had vertigo that lasted for about six months. I went to an ENT who proposed surgery. I went to another ENT for a second opinion. He said that, if I kept myself mobile and active, my brain would eventually adjust and respond to my eyes and proprioception and stop responding to the false signals from my inner ear.
So that's what I did. Went for long walks and fought against the vertigo until it went away.
