I'm sorry you broke your arm. I don't do well in hospital environments (as a patient at least) either. Because I'm not hysterical / overly emotional / attention seeking like they want / reward / chastise women for being. If you were a guy the same behaviour would likely have resulted in their being more careful, because it is expected that guys don't complain overly much.
You will get pretty good at one handed typing.
I'm not convinced brain volume changes as the result of adult limb loss... But it wouldn't surprise me if connections alter so that some processing becomes more efficient.
You are probably going to need physical therapy.
Do your exercises!
