Yipee! I've got it, I've finally got it! Looks fairly complicated to make but also sounds DELICIOUS!
Re the buttermilk pie - turns out I had it typed in w/other recipes on my hard disk. It takes 5 Tablespoons ww flour, 4-1/2 cup sugar
1 pound margarine melted, 2 tablespoons vanilla, 10 eggs,
4-1/2 cup buttermilkAt least that's the version we have and it is RICH !!! The butter tarts sound similar but the buttermilk pie doesn't have the nuts or raisins. I think of tarts as being more "dressy" or tea time ... elegant, I guess.
Thank you!
> Oh, yum, buttermilk pie is, well, how can I explain it? It's more rich than a custard pie but does not taste like buttermilk (which I don't like). I think a restauranteer in San Antonio gave my hubby a recipe for buttermilk pie about 25 years ago - not sure where it is.
