I'm getting a little bummed out, in sympathy.
Or is it because I have a da*n massage in about 20 minutes? I hate massages, and this one is with a guy at an absurd Spa, where they hand you this humongous robe and slippers, and tell you they have cucumber and lemon water, green tea, and orange juice (the thinnest orange juice, with lots of spindly orange bits floating in a sea of slightly yellow-colored water, which gets more gray toward the top, ick). Plus there are all these healthy, highly-coifed, self-satisfied-seeming women lying around on lounge chairs in robes and slippers reading glossy magazines. Ugh.
I look sallow and peeked, like a stray dog, flailing around in this extremely well-appointed salon. I worry that they think I've wandered in from the street (if there were one, except it's in Vermont) and need to be gotten back there as soon as possible. Although politely, at least at first.
and then there's the whole candles and new age music and aromatic oils. It feels so horribly silly. Guess I'm just not the right class for this
Oh, seems I 'maybe' ought to change. Heeelllllppppp. I'm in a spa and I can't get out.
