I have a great affection for trees, so I can see why that's so hard for you. But its nature you're dealing with, and sometimes its got to clear out stuff to make room for other stuff. I know, that was entirely too scientific.
Now being without electricity sucks! Especially if you're somewhere warm. I hope you get it back soon!
