I want to buy yarn

Posted by Racer on March 1, 2006, at 17:10:33

This is in the nature of an obsession for me right now -- pity poor GG, who's gotten more than enough about this lately in her email inbox -- but I just have to express it. I *want* to buy yarn. I want to buy a good deal of yarn. I want to buy a lot of yarn that I've looked at and drooled over online for a long time. I want it, and I want new knitting needles. I want two circular knitting needles in each size, from a company that makes the Porsche of knitting needles. And I want a special circular knitting needle case to put them in.

Of course I want them all now.

Sure, there's a bit of a reason for some of it -- I have a coupon for free shipping that expires on 17 March. And that would be nice. Plus, if I spend more than $120, I get a 25% discount. If I spend $60, I only get 20% off. So it makes sense to spend a lot right now, right?

I haven't, though. Yet.

I did order a few needles, though. Four of them. And they really are expensive. But they are better than the others.

Really, it's an obsessive thing, and I need more yarn like I need -- more yarn. I've got more yarn than I could knit in a year -- as proven by the fact that most of it has been around longer than a year, and it's still not knit up...

Anyway, I just had to get that out. And I figured y'all should know about it.
