I was very disappointed. I know, it has gotten rave reviews. And I know it's supposed to be an artsy sort of film and not much plot and all and people think that is why I didn't like it. I have LOVED some of the wierdest, plotless-est, funky sorts of films before, and I gotta tell you, that's not the problem. I just didn't like this one. Sure, it has a few good moments in it--a few funny bits and a few artistic images, etc.. But it is dreadfully endless and full of overstimulating travelogue type scenes of Tokyo in all its neon glory or shall I say garrishness? (note to self--don't go to Tokyo)--although the Kyoto scenes weren't bad--and absolutely way too long sequences of boring scenes of drunken off key Karioke partying. And neither character got me hooked at all. It really did nothing for me. And in the end it goes for a 'touch-of-Hollywood' cliche ending, albeit a subtle form of it, but still cliche.

In sum I didn't like it and give it a thumbs down.
