As you might have noticed, Pax, I have no problem with self disclosure. And these threads are moving and very helpful.

But I admit I also like the leaven of the silly threads too. They help provide the bonding that makes the other threads possible.

I'll bet a social scientist could make hay from the interplay between serious and lighthearded.

I admire your resolve. It sounds as if you are doing what will be best for your daughter. It is so important for her to know that none of this is her fault. I think a common thread running through all our stories is the feeling of responsibility on our parts or the lack of safety provided by our parents. If you provide a sense of safety for your daughter, and help relieve her of responsibility, you'll have done a wonderful thing for her.
